Tuesday, 26 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles, instead we were gentle among you, as a nursing mother nurtures her own children. 1 Thessalonians 2:7 (HCSB) This passage is a powerful reminder of God’s love and care for us. The Apostle Paul compares his efforts to those of a nursing mother, who nourishes and nurtures her child with the utmost care. Imagine a nursing mother holding her baby close to her chest. She can feel the baby’s heartbeat against her own. In the early days, when babies communicate their needs and discomforts only through crying, the mother quickly understands and attends to them. She knows that the baby depends entirely on her for nourishment and care. She does not hesitate to stay awake to care for her child. In the same way, God loves and cares for us. He knows that we are completely dependent on Him for everything we need. He provides us with food, shelter, and clothing. He gives us air to breathe and water to drink. But more importantly, He gives us His love and His Spirit. Similarly, God expects His children to treat newborn believers with the utmost care, love, and warmth and nurture them to grow stronger. 1. What are some ways that God nurtures you like a nursing mother?2. How can you nurture those around you in the same way that God nurtures you? Nurturing others needs a committed heart and the willingness to sacrifice comfort. Consider what Jesus did for you and follow in His footsteps. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to nurture others and grow in you as you have nurtured me. Amen.
NURTURE OTHERS LIKE A NURSING MOTHER.
