Thursday, 3 August 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:4 (ESV). In the Bible, Luke describes a lovely parable of Jesus. It is the story of a good Samaritan who went out of his way to assist a stranger who had been beaten and robbed. He did not mind the man’s nationality or religion. He simply noticed someone in need and went above and beyond to ensure the man’s well-being, providing immediate first aid, carrying him to an inn, and even offering to cover any additional expenses for his recovery. Instead of considering his own schedule, convenience, or personal safety, he prioritized the wounded man’s interests and needs, showing Christ’s love and compassion. * Through this parable, examine your attitude and actions towards others.* Are you quick to pass by and overlook the needs of those around you, or are you willing to stop and help even if it inconveniences you?* Are you consumed with your own interests, or are you genuinely concerned about the well-being of others? * As followers of Christ, we are called to embody His selflessness in our daily lives.* This means actively seeking opportunities to serve and bless others, even when it requires sacrifice on our part.* When we prioritize the interests of others, we demonstrate the love of Christ and become vessels of His grace and compassion in the world. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to look not only at my own interests but also at the interests of others. Amen.
