Saturday, 2 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25 (NIV) In the Bible, Abraham is known for becoming prosperous through his generosity. In Genesis 13, Abram and his nephew Lot had accumulated substantial flocks and herds. However, disputes arose between their herdsmen over grazing land as their herds grew. Abram demonstrated extraordinary kindness in resolving the disagreement. He gave Lot the choice of land to settle on without any resentment or selfishness. Lot selected the fertile plains surrounding Sodom and Gomorrah, leaving Abram with less attractive land. However, God blessed Abraham abundantly, beyond material wealth; he became the father of many nations, and his faithfulness and generosity were foundational models of the relationship God desires with His people. Questions for Reflection: Are you hesitant to practice generosity?Are there fears or concerns that hold you back from giving freely?How can you cultivate a more generous heart in your life? * Abraham’s willingness to put others first, even at a potential cost to himself, set a powerful example of how a generous heart aligns with God’s heart.* Follow this principle of considering others first.* God will indeed bless you beyond measure.
