OUR GOD IS A COMPASSIONATE AND GRACIOUS GOD, SLOW TO ANGER,...

“Thursday, 10 August 2023 Today's Word of Hope:But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15 (NIV) In the first chapter of Mark's Gospel, we read about a man with leprosy coming to Jesus seeking a miracle. In this powerful encounter between Jesus and this man with leprosy, we witness the true essence of compassion in action. Leprosy was not only a physically debilitating disease but also carried a severe social stigma, causing those afflicted to be shunned and isolated from society. Yet, despite the cultural norms and potential risks, Jesus responded with deep compassion and love. He reached out His hand, touched that man, and healed him. * Compassion is more than just feeling sorrow or pity for someone; it is a heartfelt response that moves us to take action.* Jesus did not just express empathy from afar; He got into action, something unheard of in those times.* His touch was a powerful display of love, acceptance, and restoration. * Mother Teresa made a massive difference for similar people who were orphaned and abandoned by society simply because of her compassionate heart.* How compassionate are you?* Be filled with the love and compassion of Jesus, and make a difference in your community.* Show God's love in action, and let your actions reflect your faith in Jesus Christ.* God will be so pleased with you when you show compassion to the poor. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please fill me with your compassion and help me show your love in my actions. Amen”
