You don't have to rely on your own...

“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.”

Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)

Today's Reflection

Catching the Wind ⛵

Today’s Word: 📖 “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.” — Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)

Mark was determined to get his heavy sailboat across the lake before sunset. When the breeze died down, he grew impatient, grabbed the small emergency oars, and began to row. He strained his muscles, sweat stinging his eyes, but the massive vessel barely budged. Exhausted and defeated, he finally dropped the oars and slumped in his seat. Just then, a gentle but steady wind began to blow. Mark quickly raised the sails. Within moments, the canvas billowed outward, and the boat glided effortlessly across the water, propelled by a force far greater than his own. ⛵

In the same way, we often face challenges—a difficult relationship, a stressful project, or a habit we want to break—and try to conquer them through sheer willpower and human effort. We row and row until we are spiritually exhausted. But God does not ask us to rely on our own limited strength. True breakthrough and peace come when we stop striving, surrender our efforts, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and propel us forward.

Response: 🚶‍♂️ Identify one area of your life where you are striving in your own strength today, and consciously surrender it to God, asking His Spirit to take the lead.

Prayer: 🙏 Father, forgive me for trying to row through life on my own strength. Today, I hoist my sails and invite Your Holy Spirit to breathe life, direction, and power into everything I do. Amen.
