The Name on the Sign 🏡
Today’s Word: 📖 “They will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.” — Zechariah 8:8 (NIV)
For years, Maya moved from one foster home to another, carrying her entire life in a single, worn-out duffel bag. She had learned to keep her guard up, always expecting the next rejection. But then she met the Millers. After months of transition, the official adoption papers were finally signed. That afternoon, Mr. Miller took Maya out to the front yard and handed her a paintbrush. Together, they added her name to the wooden family sign hanging by the driveway. “You are officially a Miller now, Maya,” he said, looking her in the eyes. “You belong with us, and we are committed to you forever.” 🏡
In the same way, God promises us a deep, unbreakable sense of belonging. The people of Israel had wandered, struggled, and felt abandoned, but God declared a covenant of total restoration. He didn’t just tolerate them; He claimed them as His own. When we put our trust in Him, we are no longer spiritual orphans drifting through life. He writes our names in His book and commits to being faithful and righteous to us, ensuring we always have a secure home in His love.
Response: 🚶♂️ Walk through your day with the confidence of someone who is deeply claimed by God, letting His promise of belonging quiet any fears of rejection.
Prayer: 🙏 Father, thank You for claiming me as Your own and writing my name in Your heart. Help me to rest securely in Your faithful love today, knowing I always have a home in You. Amen.
