Sunday, 3 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Philippians 4:5 (NIV) Moses, a central figure in the Bible, is renowned for his remarkable gentleness. Despite his significant role as a leader, prophet, and mediator between God and the Israelites, Moses consistently displayed a gentle spirit. Despite the complaints and disobedience of the people, Moses remained patient and compassionate, often interceding with God on their behalf. In moments of frustration, Moses consistently sought the Lord’s guidance, demonstrating humility, a characteristic of gentleness. Moses’ gentle spirit also extended to his interactions with his family. He willingly accepted the counsel of his father-in-law, Jethro, showing humility and openness to wisdom from others. Moses’ life exemplifies how gentleness can coexist with strong leadership and spiritual authority. Questions for Reflection: 1. Examine whether and how gentle you are in your interactions and behaviors with others.2. Are you using the responsibilities that you carry as an excuse for your arrogance?3. How can you foster gentleness in your leadership roles like Moses did while guiding the Israelites? * Reflect on Moses’ life and seek God’s guidance and grace to demonstrate humility and extend patience in your interactions with others.* Allow your gentleness to reflect your relationship with Jesus. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to be gentle and kind with others. Let my life be an example of your love and compassion. Amen.
