Thursday, 28 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20 (NIV) Zacchaeus was a wealthy tax collector, but he was also a very corrupt man. The people of Jericho hated him. One day, Jesus came to Jericho. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus but was too short to see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed up a sycamore tree. When Jesus came to the tree, He looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” Zacchaeus was shocked. He could not believe that Jesus would want to stay with him. He climbed down from the tree and welcomed Jesus into his house. Zacchaeus’ heart was transformed, and he said to Jesus, “Lord! Here and now, I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Yes! Zacchaeus was sensitive enough to respond to God’s knocking at his heart and life. He immediately accepted Jesus into his life and took corrective actions to please God. Think of your past, and do you remember instances when God knocked at your heart? 1. Did you respond to His call or reject Him, and how did you feel after that? 2. How can you grow to be more sensitive to God’s call and His voice? Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me be sensitive and remain open to your voice in all life situations. Amen.
BE OPEN TO RECEIVE GOD, WHEN HE KNOCKS AT YOUR HEART.
