Friday, 18 August 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. Proverbs 13:4 (NIV) * The attribute of being focused, careful, and persistent in one’s activities is referred to as diligence.* It entails making a constant and sincere effort to achieve a goal, complete a task, or pursue a specific course of action. If we look into the life of Nehemiah in the Bible, we can see him as a man driven by a mission. Despite being blessed with a government position to serve King Artaxerxes I of Persia as his cupbearer, he was still burdened to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and was praying and fasting for the same. After getting permission and supplies from the king to rebuild Jerusalem’s broken walls, he went back to Jerusalem, gathered all the people who lived there, and started the job. Despite the adversaries’ mockery and threats, Nehemiah and his fellow workers remained unwavering in their diligence. The walls were rebuilt, the city secured, and God’s glory restored. Nehemiah’s story isn’t just about bricks and mortar; it’s a testament to the power of diligence fueled by unwavering faith. * Diligence requires investing your time, energy, and resources into endeavors that align with God’s purpose.* Are you clear about God’s plan for your life?* How diligent are you in pursuing them? * Embrace diligence as a gift from God.* Lean into His strength and guidance, and remain steadfast even when challenges arise.* You will have a satisfied life. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to have a diligent spirit in all that I do. Amen.
