No matter what you are facing, God is...

“Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

Joel 2:32 (NIV)

Today's Reflection

The Lifeline of a Cry 🌲

Today’s Word: 📖 “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” — Joel 2:32 (NIV)

The shadows lengthened in the dense forest as Maya realized she had taken a wrong turn. With a sprained ankle and a dead phone, panic began to set in as the temperature dropped. She couldn’t walk out of the wilderness on her own, and she certainly couldn’t survive the freezing night without shelter. Remembering the emergency whistle clipped to her backpack, she blew it with all the breath she could muster. 📣 She didn’t have to navigate the dark trail or carry herself home; she simply had to make her need known. Within an hour, the search party’s flashlights pierced the gloom, guided straight to her by her persistent cry for help.

How often do we find ourselves in the same place, lost in the dark wilderness of our own mistakes, worries, or circumstances, foolishly believing we have to find our own way back? But God does not demand that we rescue ourselves or clean ourselves up before He steps in. Salvation begins with a cry of surrender. The moment we call out His name, the Creator of the universe, stops to listen, ready to rescue us from the dark.

Response: 🚶‍♂️ Put aside the pressure to rescue yourself today; instead, pause and call on God’s name in prayer, trusting Him to meet you in your weakness.

Prayer: 🙏 Lord God, thank You that I do not have to be strong enough to save myself. When I feel lost or overwhelmed today, help me to simply call out Your name, trusting that You always hear my cry and run to my rescue. Amen.
