The Rescue from the Scrapyard 🕰️
Today’s Word: 📖 “I will deliver this people from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death.” — Hosea 13:14 (NIV)
The grandfather clock sat in the corner of the salvage yard, choked with dust and covered in rust. To anyone passing by, it was junk destined for the metal crusher—a silent monument to lost time. But then, a master clockmaker spotted it. He didn’t see scrap; he saw a masterpiece. He paid the yard owner the asking price, hauled the heavy clock to his workshop, and began the delicate work of restoration. He replaced the broken gears, polished the tarnished wood, and restarted the pendulum. What was once dead and forgotten in the scrapyard was brought back to vibrant life, ticking with a brand-new purpose.
In the same way, we were once trapped under the weight of our own brokenness, facing the ultimate finality of death and the grave. But God refused to leave us to the scrapyard of sin. Through Jesus, He paid the ultimate price to rescue us from hopelessness and pull us back from the brink of destruction. He didn’t just patch us up; He redeemed us, offering us a brand-new life and an eternal future secure in His love.
Response: 🚶♂️ Today, live with the joy of someone who has been rescued, choosing to leave behind old, dead habits and walk confidently in the new life God has given you.
Prayer: 🙏 Heavenly Father, thank You for paying the price to rescue me from the grave and give me eternal life. Help me to live today in the freedom of Your redemption, knowing that death has no hold over my future. Amen.
