The Eager Giver 🎁
Today’s Word: 📖 “The LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.” — Isaiah 30:18 (NIV)
Arthur sat by the front window, a beautifully polished wooden sailboat resting in his lap. He had spent weeks sanding the edges and painting the sails, creating a masterpiece for his grandson, Leo. Arthur didn’t just leave the toy on the table; he sat watching the driveway, eagerly waiting for the school bus to appear. The moment he saw Leo’s bright blue backpack bobbing up the walkway, Arthur stood up, his face lighting up with a wide smile, ready to fling open the door. His joy wasn’t in the craftsmanship, but in the anticipation of showing his love. ⛵
In the same way, God does not reluctantly dole out His mercy or wait for us to beg. Isaiah paints a beautiful picture of a Creator who is actively waiting, leaning forward on the edge of His seat, longing to pour out His grace upon us. He isn’t hiding His love or holding back; He is poised to rise up and embrace us with compassion the very moment we turn our hearts toward Him.
Response: 🚶♂️ Approach God today not with hesitation or fear of rejection, but with the confidence of a child running to a loving Father who is already waiting to welcome you.
Prayer: 🙏 Father, thank You for Your heart that beats with eager love and compassion for me. Help me to run to You today, knowing You are already standing up to welcome me with open arms. Amen.
