Friday, 15 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5b (NIV) In the Bible, Joseph was a young man highly favored by his father, Jacob, which caused jealousy among his siblings. They plotted against him and sold him into slavery in Egypt. As a slave and subsequently as a prisoner, Joseph endured unspeakable suffering. He must have cried many nights in those sad days, alienated from his family and homeland. However, God had a magnificent plan for Joseph’s life. He bestowed onto Joseph the ability to interpret dreams, a power that would eventually bring him before Pharaoh, Egypt’s king. In one case, Joseph accurately interpreted Pharaoh’s dream about an impending famine, which dramatically changed his life. Yes, he was appointed as a high-ranking official in Egypt to help with the crisis. His nights of crying and hopelessness were replaced by mornings of happiness. Reflection Questions: 1. Are you, too, experiencing sadness or hardship and fighting to hold onto your faith?2. Reflecting on Joseph’s journey, how can you find the faith that joy will come, even during your own dark nights? * Never give up.* The Holy Bible states that although the righteous person experiences many hardships, the Lord delivers them all.* Continue to trust God and press on without compromising your faith or Godly principles.* God will soon transform your grieving into dancing. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please give me the strength to hold fast to your promises and ways until the day of my deliverance. Amen.
