Tuesday, 22 August 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 (NIV) * In the book of John, Jesus tells His friends that after He goes to heaven, He will send the Holy Spirit, who will always be with them.* He also stated that the Holy Spirit will empower them to be His witnesses all across the world. * The Holy Spirit was promised not only to the apostles but to anyone who accepts Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord.* This divine empowerment equips us to impact our immediate surroundings and the farthest corners of the world. The incident that happened on the day of Pentecost fulfilled this promise. As the disciples gathered in Jerusalem, a sound like a rushing wind filled the room, and tongues of fire rested on each of them. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, attracting a multitude of people from various regions. This supernatural event empowered Peter to stand up and speak the gospel boldly. On that day, over three thousand people gave their lives to Jesus, which marked the birth of the early church. * Sameway, God has chosen you, too, to be a world-changer and a history-maker.* He has destined you for more extraordinary things.* Be filled with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work wonders through your words and actions.* You will be a blessing to many. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me to be your powerful witness. Amen.
