Wednesday, 20 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12 (NIV) When Jesus faced trial before His crucifixion, His disciple Peter denied Him three times before the servants of the high priests. It was a heartbreaking and challenging moment for both Jesus and Peter. However, after Jesus rose from the dead, something beautiful happened. A group of devoted women came to Jesus’s tomb to honor Him with fragrant spices. They found the tomb empty, with an angel inside who told them that Jesus had risen. The angel had a special message for the disciples, and he singled out Peter, saying, “Go and tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going to Galilee. There you will see Him.” Later, by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus appeared to His disciples, including Peter. He asked Peter three times if he loved Him, just like the three times Peter had denied Him before. Jesus did not abandon Peter just because he denied Him before others. This story teaches us about the power of love and forgiveness. Love can heal and restore relationships even when we make mistakes or deny someone. Just like Jesus forgave Peter and gave him a second chance, we should also show the love of Jesus to others. Questions for Personal Reflection: 1. Have you experienced forgiveness and love when you have made mistakes in your life? 2. What does your love for Jesus mean to you, and how does it show in your actions?
