Saturday, 29 July 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (NIV) * On the journey of faith, we face constant battles between good and evil.* James 4:7 provides a practical and effective guide for overcoming these spiritual challenges.* It reminds us that in our pursuit of a victorious Christian life, submitting to God and resisting the devil go hand in hand. Jesus beautifully demonstrates this principle. Through forty days and nights of fasting, He consistently submitted His heart, mind, and actions to the will of the Father. At the conclusion of His fast, He encountered Satan in the wilderness. In a cunning effort to entice Jesus away from God’s plan, Satan presented Him with tempting offers of authority and glory. However, Jesus stayed strong and turned down the devil’s temptations. * The story of Jesus’ temptation teaches us that submission to God is an active decision to align our lives with His Word and will.* When we submit to God and live according to his will, we place ourselves in a position of strength to withstand the devil’s attacks.* Give Him complete authority over your life. * He is your creator.* As you yield to God’s guidance, His Spirit effectively empowers you to resist the devil’s schemes.* When you resist the devil under the authority of Christ, he has no choice but to flee from you, and you can experience freedom and victory. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me submit to you and fight the devil to win. Amen.
