Wednesday, 12 July 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit. Romans 12:11 (ESV) * The term “fervent” signifies displaying intense warmth or passion in one’s emotions or having a strong commitment to something, particularly in a religious context.* In this passage, the author encourages us to embrace a fervent spirit.* When you go through problems or disappointments, it is not easy to be fervent.* However, if you allow disappointment to take hold, it can lead you into deep depression.* The devil eagerly waits for such opportunities to immobilize and weaken you, but the Holy Spirit is always ready to assist you in moments of weakness. Apostle Paul serves as a remarkable biblical example of someone who retained fervor in his spirit despite enduring numerous setbacks. He faced persecution, physical assaults, false accusations, and imprisonment by various rulers. Nevertheless, he remained steadfast in his focus on Jesus and concluded his life victoriously, confidently declaring that he had finished his race and awaited his heavenly reward. * How fervent are you in fulfilling the God-given purpose for your life.* Are you contemplating giving up or abandoning your faith due to hardships and failures?* Do not give up.* Instead, consistently turn to Jesus and pour out your sorrows before Him.* Rely on Him, seeking His favor and mercy to cover you.* He will never abandon you.* Although life may appear to be a failure now, if you remain faithful to Jesus, you will definitely succeed. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please strengthen my spirit to exhibit fervency in following your ways and fulfilling your purpose for my life. Amen.
