Leviticus 19:11 (ESV) * God is the truth, and the devil is the father of lies.* Do you tell lies to others?* Do you think there is no punishment for lying?* Or are you terrified of people and lie to avoid unpleasant situations?* Whatever the case may be, God despises lying.* He desires that His children be truthful. Ananias and Sapphira, mentioned in Acts 5, sold a piece of property but lied about the proceeds, presenting only a portion of the sale money to the apostles. They pretended to give the entire sum. Ananias died when Peter confronted him about his dishonesty. When Sapphira arrived and repeated the lies, she died as well. * This story emphasizes the gravity of deception and dishonesty, demonstrating that God holds His people accountable for their acts and intentions.* If you have a habit of telling lies, stop it right now.* Repent before God and seek His help in remaining truthful in all circumstances.* Be conscious of your words, and allow them to reflect your identity in Christ. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to speak the truth and help me to reflect your character. Amen.
