Sunday, 6 August 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1 (NIV) * Are you terrified of people and everything that’s around you?* One of the causes of fear is not being right in the eyes of God and others. In the book of Acts, chapter 4, we read about Peter and John standing bravely before the Sanhedrin. Despite being accused by the religious council of spreading the teachings of Jesus against their decision, Peter and John displayed God’s miracle-working ability by healing the lame. The council demanded them to stop preaching in the name of Jesus. However, they firmly clung to the truth of Jesus and proclaimed that obedience to Jesus was more important than others. They displayed the courage of a lion by staying firm for the cause of Jesus Christ. * You, too, may be intimidated by those who do not believe in or oppose Jesus.* People may unjustly accuse you and curtail you from sharing the good news of Jesus but do not be afraid.* Take heart since you are not alone.* Continue to walk in righteousness, and the Holy Spirit will fill you with lion-like strength and boldness.* Nothing will harm you in any way. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to continue living a righteous life and to be courageous and fearless in the face of my adversaries. Amen.
