ACT JUSTLY, LOVE MERCY AND WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD.

“Saturday, 23 September 2023 Today's Word of Hope:He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8 (NIV) Modesty is the virtue of being humble and having a moderate opinion of one's abilities and achievements. The Bible teaches us that modesty is essential because it reflects God's character. An example of modesty from the Bible is the story of Jesus washing his disciples' feet. In this story, Jesus shows his humility and servanthood by washing his disciples' feet, even though He is their master and teacher. This story teaches us that genuine modesty is not about thinking less of ourselves but about serving others and putting them above and before ourselves. When we are modest, we are reflecting God's character in the world. Modest people:# dress in a way that is appropriate for the occasion and does not draw undue attention to their bodies.# speak and behave in a way that is respectful of others.# avoid bragging about their accomplishments or putting others down.# are humble and respectful in their relationships with others.# are willing to listen to others and learn from them. Questions for Personal Reflection: 1. Have you ever responded with modesty and humility when faced with a challenging situation? 2. How do you envision cultivating this character in your life and attracting others to Jesus? Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to be modest and humble in my words, actions, and the way I carry myself in public. Amen”
