The Restorer’s Touch 🪵
Today’s Word: 📖 “I will restore them because I have compassion on them.” — Zechariah 10:6 (NIV)
Sarah found the old oak dresser sitting on the curb, rain-soaked and deeply scratched, marked for the morning trash. To anyone else, it was useless junk. But Sarah didn’t see garbage; she saw the dresser’s original beauty. She brought it into her workshop, and with patient, gentle hands, she began the slow work of restoration. She carefully sanded away years of water stains, patched the deep cracks, and applied a fresh, warm coat of oil. Under her compassionate care, the wood’s rich, golden grain began to shine through once again. ✨
In the same way, God looks at our broken pieces, our past mistakes, and the areas of our lives worn down by hardship, and He does not see trash. Where the world sees something to be discarded, our Heavenly Father sees invaluable worth. His desire to rebuild us doesn’t come from a place of obligation, but from a heart of deep, tender compassion. He lovingly heals our wounds and brings beauty out of our brokenness.
Response: 🚶♂️ Bring your hurts and broken areas to God today, trusting that He wants to gently rebuild you rather than discard you.
Prayer: 🙏 Lord, thank You for looking at my brokenness with eyes of deep compassion. Gently restore the worn-out areas of my heart and make me whole again by Your grace. Amen.
