Saturday, 9 September 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28 (NIV) After the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples of Jesus on the Day of Pentecost, a remarkable change took place among the believers. People from different walks of life, diverse backgrounds, and cultures began to believe in Jesus Christ. This included individuals from the Jewish and Gentile communities and slaves. Both men and women came together to follow Jesus, forming a tightly-knit community characterized by a strong spirit of sharing and unity.In the days that followed, these early Christians would gather in each other’s homes, breaking bread together and sharing meals. Some of them willingly sold their possessions and donated the proceeds to those in need. This act symbolized their spiritual nourishment and fellowship in Christ, truly exemplifying love, care, and inclusivity. Questions for Reflection:1. Do you harbor any form of discrimination based on social status, culture, language, or any other societal stigma?2. Can you think of any personal experiences where you have witnessed or enjoyed the joy of sharing with others in a community setting?3. Drawing from this story, how can you incorporate the values of selfless sharing and unity in your own life and within your community? Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, please help me exhibit your love and inclusivity to everyone, just as you demonstrated your love for each individual without discrimination. Amen.
