Monday, 23 October 2023 Today’s Word of Hope:But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. Hebrews 3:13 (NIV) The word supportive means providing or showing support. Supportive people are there for others when they need them. They are understanding and compassionate and offer help, encouragement, and advice. They do not condemn us when we fail or commit any mistakes. Jesus is the perfect example of being supportive. Peter denied Jesus three times before the servants of the religious leaders. Jesus could have condemned Peter. Nevertheless, Jesus forgave him, showed extraordinary care in restoring the faith of Peter, and helped him grow to be one of the pillars of the ancient church. Later in the book of Acts and other epistles, we read how many of his disciples emulated this character during their missional lives. # God expects the same from you and me today.# Analyze your life to see whether you are critical and quick to condemn or if you are forgiving and supportive of others.# No one is perfect. However, instead of judging, if we can take extra steps to rebuke, correct, and help, we can restore many weak, vulnerable, and backslidden persons to Jesus. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me to be a supportive and encouraging person, restoring lost souls to you. Amen.
