The Load-Bearing Wall 🧱
Today’s Word: 📖 “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13 (GNT)
Joanna sat at the kitchen island, a neon yellow highlighter resting next to a dense, terrifyingly full calendar. Between her mother’s new physical therapy regimen, her own full-time job, and the endless pharmacy runs, the math of the coming month simply did not add up. She lowered her reading glasses and pressed the heels of her hands against her tired eyes.
Her older brother, Lucas, walked in through the back door, setting a bag of groceries on the counter. He paused, taking in the color-coded chaos spread across the granite. “Trying to figure out how to be in three places at once again?”
Joanna let out a long, ragged exhale. “I can’t carry all of this, Lucas. One minor hiccup and the whole house of cards comes down. I’m going to break under this.”
He began unpacking the cans, his voice steady. “You aren’t carrying the whole month today, Jo. You just have to carry a Tuesday.”
Are you staring at your own impossible calendar right now, convinced you are about to snap? When our responsibilities outgrow our capacity, a deeply rooted panic sets in. We look at the sheer volume of our burdens and assume we will be crushed. But this verse offers a divine safety net. God’s faithfulness means He acts as the ultimate load-bearing wall in your life. He will not allow the pressure to exceed your abilities and strength.
If you feel like you are buckling under the weight of your challenges, you don’t have to carry them all by yourself. Bring your exhaustion to Him with me:
Dear Lord Jesus, when I look at the overwhelming demands ahead of me, I feel like I am going to break. Thank You for being the load-bearing wall in my life and promising to never let the pressure exceed Your grace. Help me to stop trying to carry the whole month, and give me the strength to simply walk with You through today. Amen.
