Watching in the Dark 🌲

Elena sat shivering in the wooden wildlife blind, her camera resting on a tripod. The forest was dark, cold, and utterly silent. She was waiting for the elusive painted bunting, a bird known for its brilliant, rainbow-colored feathers. To an outsider, she looked frozen and foolish, staring at empty, shadowed branches. Since Elena had studied the bird’s patterns, she waited with active, thrill-filled expectation, her finger resting lightly on the shutter button. She knew the quietness of the forest didn’t mean she was alone, and she knew the light was coming. 📷
Similarly, our seasons of waiting on God can often feel cold, silent, and empty. We might look at our circumstances and wonder if our prayers are simply vanishing into thin air. But biblical hope is not wishful thinking; it is confident expectation. When we wait on the Lord, we aren’t waiting in despair. We wait knowing His faithful character, confident that He is active behind the scenes and that He hears every whisper of our hearts.
