Mary was a young girl when the Angel appeared to her and told her that she had won God’s favor. The Angel also informed her that she would bear a son who would be known as God’s son. How did Mary react to this divine intervention? In verse 34, Mary’s first thought is, “How can this happen?” Yes. She is absolutely right. How does a young virgin give birth to a son? It has never been heard of and is not even feasible. But the Angel dispelled her doubts by telling her that the Holy Spirit would descend upon her and the Might of the Most High would surround her. He further said that the child to be born will be holy, and He will be regarded as God’s son. When Mary heard about this supernatural plan of God, she couldn’t deny it anymore. It will undoubtedly be a horrifying experience ahead. She may be despised by everyone around her, and she may even be labeled as an immoral girl who became pregnant due to an illicit relationship, and so on. The future of her life in society was in danger. Despite the dangers, Mary chose to devote her life to God’s purpose. “I am the Lord’s servant,” she said to the Angel. “May everything you’ve said about me come true.” Mary trusted God’s plan more than anything else. She considered herself fortunate to be chosen by God, and by Faith, she accepted God’s plan for her life. I think Mary conceived God’s son in her womb the moment she committed to God’s plan.Even today, God has big plans for your life. But our human intellect may ask how this is possible. But if you submit your life to God’s plan in Faith, like Mary, you can also conceive and give birth to incredible things through the Holy Spirit.
