Thursday, 22 August 2024 Today’s Word of Hope:It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Hebrews 11:17. (NLT) God promised Abraham that he would have descendants through the promised son Isaac. However, when God asked Abraham to sacrifice the very same son, he was willing to sacrifice Isaac.Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God would be able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead. All that we enjoy in this world, including people and possessions, are blessings from God. How deeply are we holding on to these blessings? If we start loving and cherishing God’s blessings more than Him, it is idolatry. Analyze and check if there is anything like that in your life, and put them on the altar. Let Christ be the first and foremost in your life. Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me keep you the first in all areas of my life. Amen.
